Dry needling, or intramuscular therapy, is a technique designed to help treat pain and strengthen weak muscle groups. It involves inserting a small, sterile needle into specific areas of muscle called “trigger points.” These “trigger points” are tender, irritable spots in bands of tissue. Dry needling works best when combined with electrical stimulation. The results are often immediate with noticeable improvements in pain, range of motion, and your ability to move.
